"A total lifesaver. I've never had acupuncture before but would highly recommend it as it has changed my day to day life."
PREETI GHELANI ACUPUNCTURE IN LINCOLN AND LINCOLNSHIRE
Acupuncture For Pain Relief
I see patients everyday whose lives are significantly impacted by pain, whether it's musculoskeletal or as a result of another health condition. Pain might be keeping you off work and you’ll be getting more and more stressed about it, probably worrying about how much worse it might get. As your anxiety gets worse, so does the pain and you find yourself in a negative cycle. Daily household tasks may become almost impossible and everyday activities like going out for a walk are no go and whilst medication may help, it can often cause other problems. Is this you? If so, the good news is acupuncture can help.
The NHS recommends acupuncture for pain relief and I have been able to help many patients reducing their pain or even eradicating it completely. You can see more of my reviews on Google.

Acupuncture For Women's Health
Perimenopause/menopause
There’s a lot more than hot flushes and changing periods to contend with. Maybe you’ve had a hysterectomy and you’ve been plunged into menopause overnight. Is your sleep non-existent? Are you fed up with having to go to the loo several times at night? Are you unable to carry on with exercise because you feel so exhausted and have joint pains? Whether you have brain fog, anxiety, migraines/headaches or one of the 40 symptoms of the menopause, acupuncture can help.

Periods
If there’s anything that’s causing you extreme pain with your menstrual cycle then you can try acupuncture to make it better. Heavy periods, fibroids, irregular periods, menstrual pain, ovulation pain or unmanageable pre menstrual tension can be ‘smoothed’ out using acupuncture. Or you’ve stopped taking the pill after a long time and your once regular periods have dwindled to nothing. You’ve had endless tests from your GP and they haven’t revealed anything significant. Acupuncture may well be the answer to your problems.

Endometriosis
Your flare up pain is agonising, stabbing and relentless. Emptying your bowels feels like passing shards of glass and sometimes they’re constipated and sometimes loose. You have abdominal pain and cramps making digestion difficult. There’s a sharp, electric pain in your lower abdomen, pelvis and lower back. There’s plenty that you can do to make things better. A good start is to have acupuncture to reduce your pain and help you to feel calmer.

"I am currently receiving treatment with issues related to my menopause. The consultation process is detailed, delved into and cross referenced so that she can truly understand how you are feeling and how your body responds to food, the elements and life in general. With her support I am turning a corner and my menopausal symptoms are becoming easier to manage."
Carolyn
"I had been on the contraceptive pill for over 10 years (for ovarian cysts) and was worried that my periods had started to deteriorate. When I tried to stop taking it…I again suffered from cysts only a couple of months after stopping. Upon starting treatment [acupuncture] I stopped taking the pill and my periods are now incredibly healthy just like they were at the age of 18. I highly recommend Preeti…she looks at your situation holistically and has given me advice which I feel has improved my general health and understanding on how to look after myself both physically and mentally."
Hayley
"I have been suffering from chronic cluster headaches and possible endometriosis related health issues for at least 18 months. Due to waiting lists I needed to look elsewhere to help relieve my pain and symptoms. Preeti is very calming and knowledgeable. She offers reassurance and advice as to how you can also help yourself on a day to day basis. My pain always eases to a much lesser level once I’ve had a treatment with Preeti."
Acupuncture For Migraine and Headache
Hours of excruciating pain, nausea followed by vomiting, receding pain and then finally the relief of sleep? Lost work time, cancelled family plans, strained relationships? Do you face this awful pattern when you have a migraine or headache? Are you taking medication for your migraines that wipes you out and makes it difficult to function?

Will acupuncture help to reduce the number of migraines and reduce the ferocity of the attacks?
Will you be able stop taking medication that only makes limited difference to migraines and has side effects?

There are lots of people who’ve had acupuncture for migraines and headaches and found it's made a life changing difference.
Emma
"A total life saver…makes me slow down and relax now the headaches have gone. Never had acupuncture before but would highly recommend as it has changed my day to day life."
Heartburn and Acid Reflux

Do you suffer from a distressing and intermittent burning in the chest that usually comes after eating and that might be worse at night or while lying down? Is there an unpleasant sour taste in your mouth caused by stomach acid? You may also have a cough or hiccups, a hoarse voice, bad breath, bloating and worse still you might feel nauseous. Acupuncture is safe, natural and is very often effective at reducing the nasty symptoms of acid reflux, meaning you have to take less medication and improve the quality of your day to day life.

Oncology Acupuncture
If you’ve had a diagnosis of cancer you'll know that coming to terms with what lies ahead is difficult and anxiety inducing. Acupuncture can help you to cope by reducing stress and anxiety, and improving your quality of life. If you are also suffering from nausea/vomiting, feeling cold, a dry mouth, breathlessness and fatigue, significant levels of pain and hot flushes, acupuncture can also help to effectively reduce your symptoms. Many oncologist and cancer specialists recommend acupuncture alongside cancer treatment.

ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS
If you don't think that acupuncture is for you, I offer a variety of alternative treatments, which can also be used in conjunction with acupuncture.
Acupressure with Essential Oils
If you want acupuncture and all its benefits, acupressure is for you. It’s non intrusive and if you are needle sensitive, acupressure and essential oils are extremely effective. Depending on your diagnosis I will choose a wonderfully aromatic essential oil(s) on acupuncture points so that both can work synergistically. The essential oil is absorbed through the acupuncture point on the skin enhancing your well being so that you benefit physically, mentally and even spiritually. The essential oil is the Jing of the plant, its vital essence. In Chinese medicine, Jing is what interacts with the acupuncture point.

The use of essential oils within Chinese medicine dates back to its first documented herbal text - Shen Nong Ben Cao, written in the second century CE. Inhaling an essential oil provides instantaneous healing effects. Scents breach the blood brain barrier via the nasal passages immediately communicating to the olfactory neurons in the brain. Essential oils have a direct therapeutic effect on the mood and emotions. Oils like frankincense, ylang ylang and lavender can help you to feel calm. To protect I use eucalyptus and tea tree to help open up the lungs and increase the capacity to utilise oxygen. I use essential oils on acupuncture points along with needles at other points so you can get the maximum health benefit.
I can send you home with a personalised single or multiple essential oil blend empowering you to take part in your own healing process. You can give yourself quick and easy daily acupressure style treatments fortified with the essential oils. I will instruct you about where to daily apply the oil together with images of point locations on the body.
Cupping
Cupping therapy is like massage and helpful for all sorts of problems like chronic headaches, dizziness, stiff shoulders, constipation, asthma, coughing and back pain. Cupping moves stagnant Qi and Blood. It can treat pain, improve the metabolism, improve blood microcirculation, activate the lymph system and toxin elimination process, tone up the skin and remove pathogenic factors.

Cupping doesn’t only have to be on your back. Depending on your condition cups can be placed below the collar bone, on the abdomen, on the pelvis, on the back and on legs to relieve pain. I use a beautifully fragranced therapeutic oils on your skin containing ingredients like lemongrass, cajeput, cassia and peppermint. Warm glass cups which create a suction are placed on your oiled skin and if on your back I glide them leaving you to experience a deep relaxation. Sometimes cups are left static on your skin for a few minutes and they leave a mark. This isn’t permanent and they go away after a few days.
Moxa
Moxibustion or moxa is placed either directly on the skin or held just above it, over specific acupuncture points or meridians. Moxa is usually made from the dried leafy material of Chinese mugwort (Artemesia argyi or A.vlugaris). The herb is lit and as it smoulders slowly, a therapeutic heat enters the skin and affects the flow of ‘Qi’ (energy) and blood in the area being treated. In traditional Chinese medicine, moxibustion is used on people who have cold or stagnant conditions. The burning of moxa is believed to expel cold and warm the meridians, which leads to a smoother flow of blood and Qi.
Abdominal Sacral Massage
An incredible massage treatment that’s effective for those with constipation and other digestive problems, endometriosis, painful menstrual cycles, menstrual headaches, fertility issues, menopause and fibroids. I work on all your vital organs, digestive system, the small & large intestine, diaphragm, ileocecal valve and your lower back and sacrum. It helps relieve muscular as well as emotional tension and boosts blood, nerve and lymph supply in areas that are so forgotten about or hidden away.
Abdominal sacral massage is for women and men and I combine it with acupuncture or for those who don’t like needles it can be mixed with cupping.
